Many congratulations to Lee 'Fuzzy' Davies who has been appointed new First XV squad Team Manager.

A former quality back rower, Lee had a long and distinguished playing career with the Athletic, spanning from the age of nine playing for the Under 10's through the age groups to Youth, Druids & First team. During his successful Youth playing period, he was selected to represent Wales A Youth v Romania and toured South Africa with Crawshays Welsh Youth, he has also played for Carmarthen & District Schools RU and Carmarthenshire County. During much of his First Team career, he played along side his brother Steve who was a talented centre threequarter who had also risen through the club's ranks to captain the Red & Blacks.

Many Welsh rugby clubs are family orientated, our club is no different and the Davies clan is in the same mould. Lee's father Roy is a long serving committee member & kit master, mum Monica served on the Ladies committee, uncle John regurlarly 'runs the line' for the First's and son Scott is the successful Under 15's captain who lifted the Scarlets Carmarthenshire cup & Scarlets Regional cup last season. As previously mentioned, his brother Steve also played for the club.

Since he retired as a player, 'Fuzzy' has given his time freely to coaching the Juniors from Under 10's to Under 15's. He is Red & Black to his core and a real gentleman. We wish him well and much enjoyment in his new role.
