HENDY 28 ATHLETIC 17
The match played at Hendy today was the ONLY National league fixture to survive the severe weather conditions experienced during the past week.
The combined efforts of two weather fronts, 'the Beast from the East' coming from Siberia and 'Storm Emma' from SW Europe has caused havoc in the UK, creating the worst winter spell since 1991. However, the micro climate in Hendy presented no such problems and our game went ahead.
Despite a valiant & courageous performance, we went down to the table toppers 28-17. Robbie Thomas & Marcos Francis-Curtis scored a try apiece and Tom Gravel added two conversions & a penalty for the Red & Blacks.
Next Saturday, Athletic welcome Tumble to Johnstown for a 2.30pm kick off.
