WRU National League Division Two West

Saturday 15th September

ATHLETIC 27 PEMBROKE 11

Both sides had won their opening two games of this season's league campaign so something had to 'give' in this encounter at Athletic Park.

Pembroke fielded a big pack of forwards and a speedy set of threequarters. Tenacious defence by Athletic however curtailed the visitors attacking potential and their own strenghth & fitness would ultimately carry the day and gain a deserved bonus point win. Four tries were scored by: prop JAMES NEWNIAN (2), stand off KARL WILLIAMS & full back ROBBIE THOMAS, two conversions and a penalty were added by KARL WILLIAMS. This excellent victory sets up a mouth watering match next Saturday against table toppers & fellow undefeated club Penclawdd RFC - sure to be a cracker! Please come down & support the Red & Blacks.

Friendly Match

PEMBROKE 2nds 35 DRUIDS 24

The Druids travelled to Pembroke for their first game of the season and blew away the cobwebs in a highly entertaining friendly match. The home side came out on top in this try fest encounter. Morsey's marauders will be grateful to get this first match under their belt as they look for another friendly fixture for next Saturday.
